Inaugural Cantopop Live Concert to Rock Kuching this October!

After five long years, guitarist-vocalist Paul Wong and bassist-vocalist Steve Wong Ka Keung now reunite and embark on a world tour concert themed after one of BEYOND’s most successful albums “Rock and Roll 乐与怒” which became an instant attention grabber. The concert which also demonstrates BEYOND’s everlasting spirit for rock music, will see both stars belting out many hit songs including those written by the late Wong Ka Kui.

Famous Hong Kong Rock Band BEYOND is one of the very few groups who stood out in the Chinese music industry headlining concerts and claiming fame during the 90s.

Comprising original members Wong Ka Kui, Steve Wong, Paul Wong and Yip Sai Wing, the band made hits after hits and their remarkable melodies and meaningful lyrical themes continue to inspire the Canto-pop world. The band has been widely known as a music legend to have made transition from underground music obscurity to mainstream stardom. BEYOND have been the Beatles, the Clash and Oasis rolled into one.

The band took a tragic turn when lead singer Wong Ka Kui fell off the stage during a live game show, which led to his death in 1993. Nevertheless, the band’s surprisingly longevity in Hong Kong’s music scene is indisputable and their many loved albums and songs including popular hits “Amani”, “Paradise”, “Boundless Oceans Vast Skies (海闊天空)”, “Glorious Years (光輝歲月)”, “The Grand Earth (大地), among others, remain greatest hits many listeners today are still craving for.

BEYOND parted ways with each member pursuing their solo career after wrapping up their concert series commemorating the band’s 20th Anniversary in 2005.

Jointly organized by Star Planet and Top Star Global, the Malaysia gig will take place, for the first time, in the state of Sarawak on 2 October 2010 (8pm) at Perpaduan Indoor Stadium Kuching.
